Hello, again.

Something I forgot to mention last time: I got a new car. My Buick died about a month ago (something or other in the engine cracked, and it would have cost much more than the car was worth to replace it), so we got a 1999 Ford Contour. It's red, has only 43,000 miles on it, and cost about 5 grand. It looks pretty cool, too.

Finished reading Deathly Hallows yesterday. Pretty much awesome. Matt is definitely right in saying it makes it worth reading the first 6 books, just to be able to read this one. I know it's not real in-depth, AP-style reading, but I've never cared as much about a bunch of fake people as I have the characters in this series. I would discuss some, but I know some of you who are planning on reading it haven't done so yet. I just wanted to say that SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE!!! HA HA HA!!! (spoiler warning)
Oh, wait, that already happened. Dumbledore actually stayed dead, which I was happy with. It would have been stupid if they had managed to bring him back somehow. One more thing:  what exactly is going on in the cover illustration? I mean, I obviously know where they are and what they're doing, but why aren't they holding wands?

Random rant:  I was listening to the radio in the car a while ago, and I heard an advertisement for some gun and knife show that would also showcase "collective memorabilia from all of our great wars."
"Our great wars"? Freakin rednecks. This made me think of that Dulce et Decorum Est poem from AP Eng. I got kinda mad.

Okay, bye.

What's this? Could it be?...

It is! It's a new update! Huzzah!

Wow, a lot has happened since last time. We had 3 great musical shows, I wrote my entire senior project piece, I turned 18, I graduated. I went to Csehy for the last time ever. *is sad* Well, I went for the last time as a camper. *is less sad, and somewhat hopeful*

Seriously, I had a kick-butt 2 weeks there. And, just like last year, it made me think really hard about going to college for music. But, I'm not, so quit your whining. And Margaret, you def should have come.

Went to Joey's party the day after I came back. Mucho fun-o. I don't think there's much more I can say about that...

I got a new cell phone. The phone, on its own, isn't actually that exciting. However, it's great because it's so infinitely better than my old one, due to "extra features" like a camera, speakerphone, and a screen on the front. I also have unlimited texting. I think most of you already got the number; if not, let me know.

Yeah... there'll hopefully be some sort of party/movie night thing at my house sometime in August. I'll let you know.

Peace out.

Hello, everyone. I've been on a long string of photo updates recently, so this is definitely not going to be another one. Except for this movie of Margaret on the bus I mentioned last time. Margaret, I offer this up in honor of a great Regional Chorus concert, and in celebration of your trip to States in 2008. The rest of you, just laugh or sit there with stunned expressions on your faces. You know, whatever.

Yeah. I'm sitting here watching the snow fall again, trying to figure what I'm going to do with the rest of my day. I was supposed to be busy from 1 to 8:30 or so, but it's all been canceled, so now I'm updating. I might break out my guitar later on and see if I can learn anything besides G and C.

I've read about this band called Mute Math, and I just found them on MySpace and am listening to them right now. It's quite interesting. They describe themselves as "Alternative/Rock/Experimental," and that might sum it up pretty good. There's a lot of Killers-esque synth stuff, and they have this sort of floaty sound, but there's this one part with someone screaming in the background. It's pretty cool. Brittany, you'd probably like these guys. Of course, you've probably already heard of them, because you're you.

Jay slash kay!

Anyways, I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do with my life and all. I'm not going to bother you all with this for too long, but I am going to for a little bit. At the regional concert, I was sitting there listening and thinking about the musicians I know who have such a great drive for improving their own talents, and I realized that I have no passion. Not only in music, but in life as a whole. I have nothing that drives me and keeps me going towards some goal. I lack passion, and I don't want to be that way.

Hello, everyone.

To all of you Pequea people who opted out of Tuesday's St. Olaf concert: you are stupid. Because St. Olaf = bangin'. Absolutely bangin'. Only non-good part of the night was when the viola soloist walks out on stage and starts playing, and everyone turns and looks at me like his very presence is a direct challenge to my own musical ability. So I get all indignant and tell them (quietly, of course) that since he's a viola player, and I'm a violin player, it doesn't matter that he's better than me. Well, three songs later, he comes out holding a violin. I'm like, Crap... Still, he was amazing.

To continue with my recent string of photo updates, here's some stuff from district chorus...

Here's the whole group (minus me, of course). And here's various people being goofy:

This is Joe. We sat with him at dinner on Friday. Question for ya:  Have you ever seen one man shove two whole hot dogs into his mouth at one time, then chew and swallow them? I have, and this man is the reason for it.

This is Joe dancing. The song is some "Grease" medley they played near the beginning of the dance. Watch, and be amazed...

We were on the bus taking pictures of Margaret's various expressions, when she decided that we should just make a movie of them. I was trying to upload it, when Xanga decided that now would be a great time to stop working. I'll try again next time, I suppose.

Valentine's Dance was not one of my favorites. I did manage to have fun, though, in a large part because of Colleen (thank you, by the way). I want Captain Kent back.

Well, I'm going to Youth Link, so bye.

So tired...

St. Olaf tomorrow! w00t!

To finish up the Disney pictures, here is the aforementioned pirate:

Robert Larkin = awesome. *gives hug*

And, to finish us up, here is the one and only "Jesse face..."

I keep trying to get that face just right, but I can't quite do it again.

Eventually, I'll get around to putting up the stuff from District/County Choruses.

So, about the musical... I know we're gonna have a good show, but we don't seem to be getting there yet. And was anyone else psyched that we got out early today? It felt like one of those unplanned, snow-related early dismissals, except not really.

2nd semester schedule:

1: Economics
2: AP Eng
4: Chamber Singers/Wind Ensemble (which could, incidentally, use a few more players, such as another clarinet)
5: Computer Science I, with some long-term sub who doesn't actually know any HTML, so we pretty much teach ourselves.

Speaking of HTML, I can now use it in Xanga. Hover over the green words and see what happens. Do it. I dare you. Hopefully, I'll eventually be able to move past these little party tricks and actually do something cool. I've heard from the Comp Sci 2 people that the things we learn next are much better. Until then... I don't know what, but something.

Jesse (or Jessby, if you must)
